William, Kate, Harry and Meghan launch mental health text line

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have teamed up to launch a text messaging service for people experiencing a mental health crisis.

"That is 60,000 moments when people who were feeling scared, frightened and alone were able to use their phone to connect with someone who could support them," Prince William said at a launch event at Kensington Palace. The duke also appealed for more people to join as volunteers, who are supported by clinically trained supervisors.

The service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is modelled on the US-based Crisis Text Line, which was launched in August 2013.

Are these feudal parasites aware that inequality is major factor in mental illness?

Fantastic news.

Much respected but why not invest in something that would help people who don’t already have help? Maybe the homeless or the hungry or someone you know?

This is a brilliant service considering how many people take their own lives on a daily basis. Making it ok not to be ok! samaritans also offer a text service for people in need of emotional support as well as phone and email support

Where would we be without them

Any chance of the Beeb mentioning the death of Freddie Starr rather than just yet more royal stories? Has the Beeb just become a mouth piece for Clarence House?

Sorted

And who's our first caller? Hello Theresa May.

Oh how very thoughtful of them !!!

Their charity that taxpayers have funded

allowance war
