Walmart Inc. said Tuesday that it is adding pet care services, including the launch of an online pet pharmacy that will deliver medication for pets, horses and livestock to shoppers' homes. The retail giant will also be stocking its 4,500-plus pharmacies with the 30 most-requested pet medications. And Walmart is expanding its in-store veterinary clinics, starting with nine in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area in May and June. The goal is to have 100 over the next year. Finally, Walmart is adding new pet brands on its store shelves, including more premium and health-conscious brands like Blue Buffalo and Greenies. More than two-thirds of U.S. households (68%) have a pet, according to data provided by Walmart from the American Pet Products Association.
