ABC broadcaster Jill Emberson wants to talk about a matter of life and death: hers

In the past it has been part of her job as ABC Newcastle’s Mornings presenter, but this week the Newcastle 2019 Citizen of the Year wants to talk about a matter of life and death: her own.Emberson, 60, grew up in Homebush and was a presenter in the early days of ABC music station Triple J. In 2016 she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and is now in stage four of this terminal illness.

The ovarian cancer community welcomed the Federal Government’s announcement last month of a $20 million investment in ovarian cancer prevention, early detection and treatment as part of the National Women’s Health Strategy 2020-2030.
