Facebook has come under fire from outraged breast cancer awareness groups after it banned online advertisements that featured topless survivors, claiming they violated the platform’s nudity policy.
The move by the social media giant has been described by the BCNA as “nonsensical”, particularly after the platform allowed the live stream of the deadly Christchurch mosque terror attacks in which 51 people were killed. The breast cancer campaign includes photograph advertisements of 10 topless breast cancer survivors holding cupcakes to their chests in order to “raise vital funds to continue our work supporting all Australians affected by breast cancer”.
