A woman accused of stabbing a teacher at a primary school in Byron Bay is a danger to society and escaped from a mental health facility two weeks ago, a court has heard. 9News

Ms Sbaraini was "unpredictable, volatile and violent", the court was told, and had been unmedicated since escaping from a mental health facility two weeks ago.

Magistrate Geoff Dunlevy denied bail, saying there was a significant risk to the victim and the community at large if she was released. “He’s amazing. I’ve never met someone who is so gentle and so caring, I’m in absolute shock,” one local mother told 9News.
