City police chief Comm Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said police began investigations after receiving a report from an alert assistant administration officer at the City Health Department on April 12.
He said following the report, police interrogated the person who submitted the fake MC and the investigation revealed that he paid RM25 for the MC from a third party. "We found 216 doctor's stamps, 4,631 MC slips, 257 MC booklets and receipt books. We also seized five mobile phones, a computer and a portable hard drive," he said, adding that the investigation revealed the syndicate had been active since 2017.
