A former health insurance agent who pleaded guilty of stealing nearly a million dollars from the City of Montgomery will spend a year behind bars.
A Montgomery County grand jury returned an indictment in April of 2024 charging Burt with one count of theft in the first degree for stealing from the City of Montgomery. She pleaded guilty in Circuit Court on May 20. On July 9, Judge Greg Griffin sentenced Burt to two years in the county jail, split to serve one year day for day.
