Nurse told she has cervical and breast cancer two weeks apart after NO symptoms

A NURSE who was diagnosed with cervical and breast cancer just weeks apart has revealed she had no signs or symptoms and was up to date with smear tests.

Just nine months following her final round of chemo, and having been through radiotherapy and an operation in between, Claire will be running the 26.2 mile race this weekend.: "To go from chemotherapy to a marathon in nine months, even to get to the start line is incredible."FacebookClaire, who is running alongside husband Ian, 40, her brother-in-law Richard and friend James, hopes that her story gives hope to others with cancer that they can beat the disease.

A few weeks after the marathon, the cancer survivor will be undergoing surgery again to have her ovaries removed - and hopes to undergo breast reconstruction next year.FacebookShe continued: "I will be glad for the operations to be all done and to look forward to my life. I am just looking forward to closing this chapter and moving forward."

"Prior to all that I'd had IVF in the April," she continued. "Our plan was to try again in October of 2017. At that point I was fit, healthy and hoping to start a family. The news was devastating."The treatment for cancer meant that Claire went through an early menopause which left her infertile, as well as causing crippling fatigue, sickness, hair loss and painful radiation burns.
