Some fitness trackers are so unreliable they have been found to miscalculate the distance of a marathon by nearly 11 miles, new analysis by consumer watchdog Which? found.
Telegraph is shit beyond words
Dangerously inaccurate article.
pure garbage.
From the jizz mop that employs Boris, I wouldn’t expect anything less than the reporting such a bad piece of research.
Running the LondonMarathon tomorrow? Please DO NOT read this. Given that so much of it relies on mental strength & confidence, this article is really doing its bit to unnecessarily sabotage the mental preparations of many who will be running for good causes tomorrow. Shame.
I just don't know where to begin on the stupidity of this article - reads like The Onion. F**k me.
What an absolute pile of tosh. Do the test again in an actual real world scenario or just look at anyone's strava data and I think you'll see better accuracy.
Glad I’m not the only one who can’t believe what nonsense this article is. Who is using a watch to measure a treadmill run!? The treadmill literally tells you the distance. Outside the vast majority of people will be using GPS. Barmy nothing story.
I can’t even begin to explain just how much this article is a load of old bollocks!
This is annoying the heck out of me today - testing on a treadmill is never real world. Plus, decent trackers - and even many of the cheap ones - have a GPS for near-perfect distance accuracy - you won't get that running on the spot in the gym! fakenews
What utter nonsense. Only if they had done all their training on a treadmill and chose to use their tracker's mile count over what the 'mill's dashboard says. The test was carried out on treadmills where they're not designed to be accurate.
Load of old bollocks
