ISLAMABAD — Pakistani health officials say the country has suspended a nationwide anti-polio campaign after a health worker and two policemen escorting vaccination teams were killed in separate attacks across the country in less than a week.
Pakistan is one of three countries in the world where polio is still endemic. The other two are Afghanistan and Nigeria. But militant threats and deep-rooted superstition have spurred many parents to refuse to vaccinate their children. Officials say unidentified gunmen targeted polio workers and police assigned to protect them in three separate attacks this past week, in the heavily rural western regions bordering Afghanistan, before fleeing.
Saturday’s decision to halt the campaign against the crippling disease comes after two new polio cases were reported in the country’s northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

That’s the spirit!
The problem is they believe the conspiracy theories linked to vaccinations. The documentary called Every Last Child (2014) explains the issue. Here’s the trailer:
Keep politics out of medicine! And if your religious beliefs tell you it's wrong to use medicine to spare people from suffering and death, I would think it's time to find a new religious order.
Pakistanis and Indians both think the anti-polio vaccine is a Western-Christian plot to sterilize or kill them. Many stupid Americans think the same thing about vaccines here.
let them all get it.

I don't think Islam is the problem in this case but ignorant people! If they lived in the USA and were 'christian', they would be homeschooling, refusing to vaccinate their kids, voting for racists inexperienced leaders, and watching Fox & Friends.
Islam is a helluva drug
