On Friday afternoon at 4 p.m., Cottonwood Rescue will shut down operations, with Houston County Emergency Medical Services pulling Cottonwood Rescue’s funding ahead of a possible criminal investigation.

While a long-term solution is sought, Rehobeth and Ashford rescue units will respond to Cottonwood’s territory. But it will take longer to get medical help when seconds could be the difference between life and death.
