SHORTLY after the Department of Health announced a surge in dengue cases, Gilas Pilipinas, the national men's basketball team, and Baygon forged a partnership to help educate the public on dengue prevention during the peak mosquito season.
'Partnerships like this are important for the team as it gives us an opportunity to give back to the community in a meaningful way beyond the court,' Al Panlilio, president of Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, said.DoH announced a notable rise in dengue cases nationwide on July 1.Data from the DoH indicated a 10-percent increase in dengue cases, with numbers rising from 5,547 between May 5 and 18, 2024, to 6,082 cases from May 19 to June 1.
