, to investigate how DNA replication and repair pathways contribute to haematological health and longevity. You will also work alongside otherresearch groups, with interests spanning aspects of genome stability, chromatin and transcription, cell lineage development in relation to haematopoiesis. This position will particularly suit a candidate with an established track record in stem cell biology and a keen interest developing expertise in genome stability biology.
You will manage a research project to study how DNA replication and repair mechanisms influence haematopoeitic stem cell self-renewal and lineage commitment equilibria in mammals. The project will consider physiological sources of DNA damage that affect the HSC compartment, including DNA demethylation-associated programmed base oxidation by TET enzymes, telomere attrition, and exposure to endogenous mutagens and genotoxic metabolites.
You will hold a PhD in stem cell, chromosome and/or genome stability biology. Proven experience in advanced flow cytometry and or NGS methodologies, genome manipulation , FACS and single cell analyses, is essential. You will also have relevant specialist laboratory experience in molecular and cell biology, mouse and molecular genetics, and in vivo studies, ideally related to haematopoiesis.Applications for this vacancy are to be made online.
