The need for adequate nutrition among the populace took the centerstage as Legislators from 13 Nigerian states gathered in Lagos for a two-day summit focused on tackling malnutrition and boosting human capital development.

Themed “Prioritizing Nutrition – A Pathway to Human Capital Development,” the engagement aimed to strengthen nutrition policies and implementation across participating states.

The lawmakers who reviewed existing nutrition policies in their states, identified gaps and explored solutions, also emphasized the need for a robust legislative frameworks to support and enforce the policies. Also, participants learned from successful legislative actions in other regions and countries.

Additionally, they pledged to ensure timely disbursement of allocated funds and consider nutrition interventions within their constituency projects.
