Flight LS176 took off from Tenerife at around 10pm and was due to arrive in Glasgow at 1.45am, however, the plane was diverted to Cork in Ireland.

A Jet2 flight bound for Glasgow made an emergency landing in Ireland after it issued a mid-air alert this morning. Wednesday, July 3.

The plane was making its way from popular summer holiday island Tenerife when it signalled there was an emergency onboard. Flight LS176 took off from the Spanish island at around 10pm and was due to arrive at the Scottish airport at 1.45am, however, the plane was diverted to Cork in Ireland. Jet2 has since confirmed a passenger required medical attention onboard. The plane eventually landed in Glasgow at 4.30am this morning. A spokesperson for the travel company said: "We can confirm that flight LS176 from Tenerife to Glasgow diverted to Cork in the early hours of this morning , due to a customer requiring medical assistance.
