Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris has denied saying that Nigeria has enough medical doctors. He also said he didn’t

Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige has denied saying that Nigeria has enough medical doctors.

However, he insisted that Nigeria has enough medical personnel to handle non specialist areas in the rural areas of the country. In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Nwachukwu Obidiwe, the Minister who has come under heavy criticism since his controversial statement on Channel Television, lamented his interview has been subjected to serial distortion and misinterpretation, arising from skewed news broadcast.

He said: “I speak from the vintage position of being a medical doctor and member, Nigerian Medical Association since June, 1979 and enriched by my vast knowledge on health administration, having retired as a Deputy Director, Medical Services and Training from the Federal Ministry of Health in 1998, member of Vision 2010 Committee on Health as well as senior member, Senate Committee on Health 2011-2015.

He explained most of these rejected applicants usually throng the Federal Ministry of Health and Labour and Employment to complain of being illegally schemed out. While insisting the problem was not limited to doctors seeking specialisation, he said young medical officers who graduate from medical schools spend two to three years looking for a space for Housemanship.

You people are fond of making foolish Statement about serious National issues ,& instead of apologising , U begin to say , u're misquoted .Do u think Nigerians are FOOLS?

These days, we no longer u/stand English Language again, so, Mr Minister, do you agree that there's brain drain amongst our best Teachers, since you say dem misquote you on native, or sorry, doctors?

Why the lies something you said boldly in channels television, abi u high that day sir

Really?

You never see sumchin!

I am in support of ur position. Nigeria is not short of doctors, BUT NIGERIA CANNOT KEEP THEM EMPLOYED & SATISFIED. Since no law bars anyone from seeking greener pastures elsewhere, they, like many other Nigerians, troop out. Government must try to retain them. Migration is legal

Sir let them say, don't mind them

I said it that he was drunk before coming for that show... Now the hangover don clear..... Rubbish.......

You have just played out the lai's style...

What he said was clear and plain. If he does not know how to speak English, why not go and rewrite WAEC waecnigeria

It's only in Nigeria that people are quoted out of context even when their statements are reproduced verbatim, and without any ambiguity.

U were not misquoted u say it now u are running from wat we will tell ur children

I can laugh jor

An afterthought!

Apc with lies ... I guess they are always on drug when making a public statement and later discovered their mumucious yan then twist it to something else... Ko ni ye gbogbo yin pelu ogo olohun ati ola ramadan to n bo yi

You talk to much

U were misquoted by ya mouth.

Yeye man....ogogoro too much for that devil.

No one should ever take this idiot serious. He's always on hard drugs.

This govt always say one thing and says another one, immediately it starts firing back

If Ngige wants 2 apologize 4 his unguarded utterance, he should do so straight 4rm D heart. What does he mean he was misquoted? What then does he say, or mean 2 say? He has erred, & he should admit it. Whichever angle, he wants 2 come now, without admittance & withdrawal won't

Minister says his mouthpiece misquoted him oh! He never meant so!! So let’s take it so!!!

A disgrace to Igbos, talking before thinking. All these are Buhari's backwardness effects. What I watched you say point blank that you want to deny, anyway Liar Mohammed influenza has contaminated your life.

Hehehehe

Probably he was drunk when he made this statement because l watched it live on channel television, now he is trying to deny his statement. Clueless set of people.

It’s funny how much of a fool they take us for

😂 😂 I saw this coming

Birds of same feather

I've said when the kaikai is over you will rephrase it

Medicine after death

Eyaaaa.....pitiful.

I'm not in anyway surprise of this cheap denial by Sen. Christ Ngige, very unfortunate politician

With this kind of accidented leaders in position, I'm sorry to intimate us that as Nigerians, we are not ready. A video clip that went viral, and the same insane person is claiming he was misquoted is very unfortunate.

Labour minister 'not worried' doctors leave Nigeria | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World NewsNigeria’s labour minister, Chris Ngige, in spite of an appalling doctor-patient ratio, says he is not worried about how medical doctors are leaving the country in large numbers, because Nigeria has a “surplus.” Nigeria Ngige DoctorsInNigeria The minister doesn't care about the citizenry. Infact, it looks like a saboteur to the present administration. There is a huge gap between the political elites and the people. Both are living in separate worlds. I have the feeling that Ngige always 'highs' himself each time he's invited to come to the studio, otherwise, he shouldn't be embarrassing himself as he just did.
