From Palestine to poverty, here's what matters to voters in Mid Ulster in the upcoming election

With just days to go until Northern Ireland goes to the polls for the July 4 General Election, we are continuing our tour of constituencies as part of our 5000 Voices project.

We spoke to people in Cookstown and Stewartstown to find out what voters in the area are concerned about. Healthcare, poverty, fair pay for doctors and nurses, mental health provision and support for the elderly and vulnerable people all came up along with support for Palestine.READ MORE: Estimated times for General Election results in each NI constituency

He added: "Another major issue for me would be the rise of the right wing... I think it's frightening... taking it out on minorities for the problems the governments aren't sorting. The third thing for me... is Palestine." A man in Cookstown said "a pro life candidate would get my vote" while he also would like to "see better trade between Britain and the North whilst maintaining the All-Island economy".Denise Johnston For a 35-year-old woman, the housing crisis, abandoned housing that could be used, mental health provision, the impact of the pandemic and changes to the benefits system were her top priorities.
