CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Cases of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infections that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome is rising in the Mimaropa (Mindoro Occidental and Oriental, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan) region, the Department of Health (DoH) said.

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Cases of human immunodeficiency virus infections that causes acquired immunodeficiency syndrome is rising in the Mimaropa region, the Department of Health said.In the weekly 'Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas' facilitated by the Philippine Information Agency, the DoH Regional office said that there were 2,071 cases of HIV infections from January 1988 to April 2024 of which 130 cases were detected only from January to April this year.Dr.

Meanwhile, Regional Director Mario Baquilod said during the same forum that the conversion of the Oriental Mindoro Provincial Hospital into a DoH-run Regional Hospital may take time because it needs legislation before the health facility can be converted.'We believe that there is already a bill that passed with the Lower House and it is now before the Senate. We leave it up to the legislature as to when the conversion would be undertaken.
