Nicole Brown Simpson’s sisters are speaking out for the first time since O.J. Simpson’s death from cancer, with one saying “it’s like the end of a chapter.” NBC’s Kaylee Hartung reports for TODAY.

A tribute to O.J. Simpson during Sunday’s 2024 BET Awards “In Memoriam” segment has sparked outrage among viewers and the families of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. O.J. Simpson rose to fame in the NFL but went on to become one of the most infamous figures in U.S. history after he was accused, and ultimately acquitted, of the 1994 murders of his ex-wife, Brown Simpson, and her friend, Goldman. Simpson died of cancer in April at the age of 76.

Brown Simpson, 35, and Goldman, 25, were found stabbed to death outside her Los Angeles home in 1994. Simpson, a Hall of Fame running back and successful actor, was soon after named a murder suspect. He evaded arrest in an hourslong, televised police chase in a white Ford Bronco that mesmerized the nation.
