ILOILO CITY — Dengue cases in Western Visayas continue to surge with 360 new cases reported in the third week of June, the Department of Health said.The region now has a total of 4,030 dengue cases, marking a 25 percent increase from the 3,213 cases recorded during the same period in 2023.Dengue-related fatalities this year also increased to 10, with the most recent death being a 36-year-old male from Antique.
Barangay Odiongan, in Badiangan, Iloilo, has been tagged as a 'hotspot area' due to clustering of cases and a reported death.The province of Iloilo is also gearing up for a potential dengue outbreak that may overwhelm patients in the 13 district hospitals, including the Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan.Provincial Administrator Dr.
