The organization is dedicated to empowering people who face breast cancer by boosting self-esteem and promoting body acceptance. “It really significantly impacts your body image and sense of self,” said Michaela Raes, the president and CEO of the Breast Cancer Confidence Project. “Negative body issues can really impact someone’s ability to care for themself, their quality of life after disease, and we work to help women overcome that by providing them with empowering photographic experiences and social experiences to connect with one another.
To date, the project has helped more than 40 women reclaim their confidence and find peace after their breast cancer.
