Hon. Tamarankro Obriki, immediate past House of Representatives candidate of All Progressives Congress for Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency, Delta State, has expressed worry over the growing concerns on the deliberate ill-treatment against Ijaw members of All Progressives Congress APC in Delta State ahead of 2027 general elections.
Obriki, in a statement on Saturday in Warri, Delta State, disclosed that the party is being weakened because most of the persons and individuals appointed by President Tinubu are mostly PDP sympathizers masquerading as APC members. According to Obriki, “ In due course we will be tackling these issues with the national leadership of our great party because we have names. Therefore, coreloyalists and members do not see reasons why they will mobilize for the party in the next elections come 2027, as they have seen the reward system of the party disappeared”
“ And most of these people are driven by clannish sentiments and so they see only those from thier enclaves as good people. And those from other clans though we are all same tribe and tongue as bad people. It is pertinent to bring this issues to the front burner as these are critical issues that are eating party faithfuls from our ijaw geography like a putrid fever”
