On Friday evening, the renowned crisp brand issued a statement indicating that golf ball fragments were unintentionally collected along with Tayto potatoes during harvesting, potentially causing health issues if consumed

In response to a concerning incident, Tayto has initiated a recall of several batches of its products following the discovery of potential contamination.

In a statement, the company said: “fragments of a golf ball were found to be present in a small number of packs.”READ MORE: Food Safety Authority issue urgent recall of milk due to 'hygiene concernsThe affected products include various sizes and flavours of Tayto crisps, all bearing best before dates of 21/08/24, 2/08/24, and 23/08/24. This recall applies to:

Retailers have been instructed to remove the affected batches from their shelves immediately and to prominently display recall notices to inform customers. The affected products include Spuddy’s Cheese and Onion Flavour Irish Crisps and Spuddy’s Irish Potato Crisps assorted flavours , identified by batch code and best before date 26/07/2024.
