In loving memory of Karen Reid who passed away peacefully at Health Sciences North on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024 at the age of 71. She is the proud and the beloved mother of Dawson and Trevor . Cherished Nana of Xander, Jordyn, Maxwell, Braydon, and Madison. Predeceased by her father Floyd Peterson, sister Kristine, and brother Gary. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews especially Amy and Trisha.
Karen was a longtime employee of SunLife Financial. After her retirement, she took a job at Walmart where she made many dear friends. She was also a volunteer for the Sudbury Food Bank. She had a special love for animals, especially cats, owls and birds. Karen was a regular walker at Bell Park where she loved to feed the birds.
The family would like to thank her doctors and nurses who took exceptional care of Karen, Dr. Dylan Falk and Nurse Jakie from the cancer center, her family doctor Dr. Bansal and Kara, her Bayshore nurse. The family will hold a celebration of her life later this summer. Date to be announced. If desired, donations to the Northern Cancer Research Centre would be appreciated. Burial of her ashes will be in the family plot at Park Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home.
