There are still nearly 20 million unvaccinated and under-vaccinated children in the world today
Research by Public Health England suggests 93 per cent of parents trust GPs, practice nurses and health visitors to tell them about the benefits of vaccination.Almost one in 10 of parents said they had been exposed to information over the past year which would make them doubt whether to vaccinate their child, the survey found.Around 35 per cent of this group said the information came from the internet.
The percentage who had come across information of concern has dropped significantly from 33 per cent in 2002, which was recorded amid controversy over the MMR jab. The organisation is using World Immunisation Week 2019 to raise awareness ‘about the critical importance of full immunisation throughout life’.
