As health officials continue to fight a measles outbreak in Metro Vancouver, Fraser Health has announced a series of immunization clinics all over the Lower Mainland.

The Measles Immunization Catch-up Program, which runs from April to June, aims to address this. The provincial health authority has arranged over 150 community and school-based clinics throughout the region to ensure children are fully immunized against the measles virus. Measles clinics are being offered in Abbotsford, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Delta, Langley, Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows, Mission, New Westminster, Surrey, and the Tri-Cities area. A full list of dates and times can be found on Fraser Health’s website. While some community members have pushed for mandatory vaccinations for students, Fraser Health has instead opted for an outreach strategy that aims to connect with un-immunized families and remind or educate about the importance of vaccinations.
