BACOLOD CITY — The hospital chief of the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, Negros Occidental, has been designated as an undersecretary of the Department of Health , the Presidential Communications Office announced on Monday.Dr. Mary Ann Maestral was among the 65 newly appointed officials in various government agencies under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.Maestral was appointed TLJPH chief by Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson in 2021.
She said her new post will not leave a vacuum at the TLJPH that has a very good succession system in place. The hospital has been a very good breeding ground for leaders, Maestral said.The hospital has medical specialists and consultants for the program, she said.'We are inviting pre-resident applicants. We already have one who was a scholar of the province, and we are in need of two more,' said Maestral.
