A doctor has sounded the alarm on six warning signs in women that could potentially indicate early stages of gynaecological cancer.
Speaking to Bella Magazine, Dr Adib also emphasised that while many symptoms can be treated and managed effectively and that "serious conditions such as cancer may be rare", the potential warning signs "do need to be discounted".Painful sex and pelvic discomfort Another frequent issue is a lump inside the vagina, resembling an internal egg at the entrance, which could indicate a prolapsed uterus. This condition might improve with lifestyle adjustments, pessaries, or surgical intervention, but medical advice is crucial.
She notes: "Vaginal discharge can vary between thin and sticky to thicker with an elastic texture, and it's completely normal. However, she cautions that itching accompanied by a curd-like discharge may signal a yeast infection.Persistent vaginal itching is something three-quarters of women will encounter at some stage, but Dr Adib warns that ongoing issues could suggest a compromised immune system.
