Those wishing to apply should submit a letter of interest to Township Supervisor Ken Bruderle, according to a news release. Mental health board members are appointed by the supervisor and must approved by the township board.This is one of several puppies that might be available for adoption Sunday during Hoof, Woof & Meow Animal Rescue’s annual “Woofstock” fundraiser being held outside The Depot in downtown East Dundee.

The event will feature raffles, kids crafts and live music, according to the rescue group’s website. Money raised will help the Elgin-based nonprofit provide food, supplies and medical care for animals.A free barbecue will be held from 2 to 5 p.m Thursday, July 4, in the parking lot at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin. Anyone who would like to attend should RSVP by Friday, June 28, so staff can adequately plan for food quantities.
