U.S. health officials confirmed 71 new cases of measles last week, putting this year just a few dozen cases shy of becoming the worst year on record since the disease was eradicated from the U.S. in 2000.
Measles has now been confirmed in 22 states, the CDC said. Of the 71 new cases, 68 were in New York, with 53 from New York City and 15 in Rockland County, the CDC said. In both areas, health officials have declared public health emergencies and are scrambling to vaccinate people. Rockland County and New York City are home to large Orthodox Jewish populations, where some people have refused to vaccinate their children. Jewish Orthodox nurses are trying to debunk misinformation they say anti-vaxxers spread through these communities.
We are now taking measles cases. If your child was injured by these negligent parents who refuse to vaccinate their children, message me
