New Zealand rugby is in mourning following the tragic death of Maori All Black Garden-Bachop due to an unspecified 'medical event'.

New Zealand Rugby on Tuesday confirmed the untimely passing of Highlanders and Māori All Blacks player Connor Garden-Bachop at the age of 25.

In a separate statement shared on its social media platforms, the All Blacks said: “Kei te tangi te ao Whutupōro kua hinga tētahi o ngā tama o te papa takaro. “He will be remembered as dynamic young player and popular teammate amongst the Māori All Blacks, Highlanders and Wellington. Our deepest condolences to Connor’s family, friends and teammates in this sad time. Arohanui.”
