Elena Veysey, 45, flew from Bristol to Malaga with her daughter Eva, 16, after she was warned she could be waiting up to two years for two teeth to be taken out unless she went private

Disgruntled mum Elena Veysey whisked her daughter off to the Costa del Sol for dental work - and revealed the trip was still cheaper than private treatment in the UK.

However, they found a clinic abroad that could see them within five days at a cost of just £70. Elena, aged 45, shared: "The Ryanair flight from Bristol to Malaga was about £25 there and £39 for a return and we got an overnight stay on Booking.com for £40. It was fantastic."She's been spreading the word, saying, "I have recommended it to neighbours and people I have seen through work who are having trouble. Eva was so pleased...

In light of the upcoming General Election, Labour has pledged to increase the availability of dental appointments by 700,000 across England, with 100,000 specifically for children, and to introduce mental health support in every school. Elena commented on the absurdity of finding it more practical and economical to seek treatment overseas, while also enjoying a holiday.

"Because of my daughter's positive experience, I am considering doing it myself. I might go there just for a check-up. It's stupid to waste your money going private."
