They will cycle 200 miles from Co Down to Co Mayo on August 24

A group of Belfast cyclists will put their pedal power to the test later this summer in a mammoth charity challenge. They will take on the 'Daisy 200' which is in aid of Cancer Fund for Children on Saturday, August 24.

The five include VC Glendale pair Eddie Marcus and Toby Watson and Kingsmoss Cycling Club members Andrew McIlwaine and Murray Young. They will be assisted by Jim Adams from East Antrim Cycling Club who is providing support.Read more: Police warning to Belfast running groups after reports of suspicious man

"Cancer Fund for Children provide emotional, social and therapeutic support to children and young people impacted by cancer, in hospital, at home and at their therapeutic short break centre in Newcastle Co. Down, Daisy Lodge. We will be cycling from this purpose-built facility to the site of their second Daisy Lodge, to be built on the shores of Lough Corrib in Co. Mayo, covering 200 miles over two days.
