Newstalk's Claire Darmody awarded Rosalynn Carter Fellowship for Mental Health Journalism

Founded by former US First Lady Rosalynn Carter, the Fellowship gives journalists across the world resources to report on mental and behavioural health issues to help deconstruct the stigma faced by millions of people daily.

Claire will represent Ireland and join over 250 mental health journalism alumni fellows from across the globe with her suicide prevention project.The project focuses on bereaved children whose parents have died by suicide and will publish stories from her investigation over the course of the next year.Newstalk

, Claire said she feels “very passionate about the mental wellbeing of children and also about using media as a vehicle to highlight mental health issues and give a platform to those who need it.
