Scott Morrison pledges $100 million to help rural cancer patients l dana_adele

As the federal election campaign enters its 10th day, Mr Morrison is seeking to bolster the Coalition's credentials on health after two weeks of almost daily announcements by Opposition Leader Bill Shorten detailing Labor's $2.3 billion cancer package.

The government would use $100 million from its Medical Research Future Fund to deliver new treatments and medicines in rural, regional and remote areas over five years from 2020-21. The funding would be made available through a competitive tender process, with expressions of interest to open on October 1.
