SUBIC BAY, Zambales — The Department of Health (DoH) is hoping for a bigger allocation in the 2025 National Expenditure Program (NEP) so it could fund its infrastructure projects and benefits of health care workers.

SUBIC BAY, Zambales — The Department of Health is hoping for a bigger allocation in the 2025 National Expenditure Program so it could fund its infrastructure projects and benefits of health care workers.The DoH budget under the General Appropriations Act is P241.1 billion, which includes allocations for the Health Facilities Enhancement Program and public health emergency benefits for health care workers during the Covid-19 pandemic.

TMT FILE PHOTOAmong the allocations being proposed for 2025 is the Bucas or the Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services facilities, which will serve as a bridge between primary health care services and higher-level health institutions, including hospitals, and prevent hospitals from becoming overwhelmed.Pizarra said the Bucas Centers will serve patients who cannot manage for intervention but do not necessarily need a tertiary care level of approach.
