Valerie Crozier-Nicholl says that the treatment helped her overcome difficulties and wants to use it to help others

A Co Antrim woman is working to help people overcome trauma in their lives through the use of hypnotherapy.

She was inspired to add this to the business after going through hypnotherapy herself for her own personal difficulties and found it to be hugely beneficial and wanted to use it to support others.Speaking to Belfast Live, Valerie said that Northern Ireland as a society is particularly impacted by trauma due to the years of conflict here and that some people may not realise how they have been affected by it until much later in life.

Valerie said: "In Northern Ireland we are a society that has been widely impacted by trauma due to our history of conflict and the experiences that we have lived through. It has become normalised here and something that people have decided to live with, but many of the treatments that people receive don't deal with the root causes of that trauma and only mask it or hide it away temporarily.

"For years I was in this position until I decided to do something about it and tried out hypnotherapy for myself and was amazed with the results, as I felt like a huge weight had been lifted from me with this giving me a drive to want to help others.
