It's thought the man may have suffered a medical episode at the wheel of the red Mini moments before the crash

A driver has been taken to hospital after a car careered off a country road in Rochdale and flipped over. It's thought the man may have suffered a medical episode at the wheel of the red Mini moments before the crash on Edenfield Road in Red Lumb.

Fellow motorist Paul Ellison witnessed the crash. He said he rushed to help the driver alongside an off-duty firefighter and found him unconscious and not breathing. "I was driving behind him, there was one car between us, when it happened," said Paul. "When we got to him the driver wasn't breathing. Luckily a motorcyclist stopped and he was an off-duty firefighter. We got the window down and the debris out of the way and the firefighter started giving him critical medical assistance.
