The supermarket giant has issued an urgent recall for two chocolate bars over fears it could pose a health risk to customers, with anyone who has purchased the products asked to immediately return them to stores.

Customers who have purchased the 6 X 40g multipacks of Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars with a best before date of 28 February 2025, or Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars with dates of 31 January 2025 or 28 February 2025, are being asked to return them to the store for a full refund.

The supermarket has identified a "risk" of undeclared peanuts in these products due to a packaging error, posing a significant health threat to anyone with a peanut allergy. Customers are strongly advised not to consume the product and can receive a refund in-store without needing a receipt. In a statement, Tesco said: "We are recalling specific date codes of our Tesco Nutty Nougat Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack 6 X 40g and Tesco Dreamy Caramel Chocolate Bars Multipack 6 X 40g. Due to a mispack, there is a risk of peanuts not being declared as an ingredient in the product. This poses a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.

Additionally, Anaphylaxis UK, a leading charity warned all those with intolerances or peanut allergies that these recalled items are "unsuitable for and should be avoided".
