Marshside Health Club, in Southport, announced it was closing immediately and would remain shut today following the incident. An announcement was made on Facebook shortly before 5pm on Wednesday.
An air ambulance was seen circling over the nearby Marshside Primary School before landing a yard close to the gym on Slaidburn Crescent. The health club posted another update at 10pm yesterday, stating: "As mentioned earlier, a medical emergency occurred this evening in the gym."Out of respect for those involved, we have made the decision to remain closed tomorrow. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding during this difficult time.
"The safety and well-being of our staff and community are our top priorities. Please stay tuned for further updates. Thank you for your continued support and understanding." As a result, the gym remains closed today, June 6, the ECHO reports. Responding to the statement, Nanny Hooks said: "Thinking of you all at this difficult time. An amazing place with such caring staff team."Jennifer Lise said: "Hope all involved are ok. Very respectful decision made from you all. Take care."
