The NHS doctor has urged people to try it for their health - and to reduce food waste

Taking to TikTok, the NHS surgeon, Dr Karan Raj, shared his advice with his 5.3 million TikTok followers and explained that leaves and cores of some fruit have many benefits in them. And they can all help you live a happier and healthier life.

The tops of the berry - which is often discarded with the leaves - also is great to consume as it contains magnesium and some fibre. When it comes to apples, he also urges people to eat the core. When eating an orange, don't discard the orange peel. You probably don't want to eat these directly but you can use the zest for extra nutrition."
