The Health 202: Bernie Sanders says Medicare-for-all would reduce health spending. But that's unclear.

I believe it will be Crazy Bernie Sanders vs. Sleepy Joe Biden as the two finalists to run against maybe the best Economy in the history of our Country ! I look forward to facing whoever it may be. May God Rest Their Soul! It’s not surprising Sanders struck a chord when he talked about the burden of health-care costs for the typical American family.

Consumers would indeed save a considerable sum of money if they didn’t have to buy private health plans. But those assumptions are critical because they determine whether Medicare-for-all would increase – or decrease – national health-care spending compared to current levels. in one of its Medicare-for-all projections that providers would all be paid at Medicare rates, costing the government somewhat less. As a result, it estimated total health spending would actually fall by $2 trillion over a decade.

It also seems pretty clear that some people would pay more in taxes to support the whole Medicare-for-all system than they're paying for their own health insurance now. He said that Republicans were not able to replace the health-care law while the party had control of Congress “is one of my great sadnesses from my time up in D.C.,” the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s“You can’t beat something with nothing,” Price added.

“While this data is provisional and not yet complete, it indicates a clear trend,” WHO said in a statement. “Many countries are in the midst of sizeable measles outbreaks, with all regions of the world experiencing sustained rises in cases.” “Democrats present bills tightening the loopholes as science-based and necessary to fight disease, while sometimes demeaning their foes as misguided or selfish ‘anti-vaxxers,’” Arthur writes. “Republicans portray themselves as equally enthusiastic about the life-saving virtues of vaccines, but many are loath to diminish the right of parental control over their children’s bodies, and yield that power to the government.”— Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is endorsing a Democratic challenger to Rep.

Trump needs to be removed out of office now. Trump & his family only support Russia, Russia is their money train. Trump and his family support Russia not the United States. Trump not able to get money from the United States, Trump has to go to Russia for money. Wake up America

The only way I will ever buy into Govt. Healthcare is if the President and all of Congress have to use the same plan.

Bernie Sanders you need to go to W. Virginia and talk to the people. Their economy is in the dumper and the people are hurting, Trump promised them their jobs would return, They went out and bought new trailers to live in. They need to be told the truth

It’s very clear the wa Po hates Bernie and has zero credibility on this topic.

No it isn’t. You take out the middle man, coverage for all, property taxes go down

It's not unclear just wishful thinking to get votes. Run as an independent burny

It seems likely that the world's most expensive health care country would get cheaper if it started doing things more like the rest of the world.

Other than he is lying just like Obama did. Next point he can call it Medicare all he wants, that is a lie also. No way he can state the level of care is going to be equal to that of my Medicare for 360,000,000 people. He would be lying.

It would reduce the overhead expenses concurrent with how low they've been able to keep it for the most beloved plan thus far for the most needy group of people. But if you REALLY want to reduce health spending, then you need to tax the dickens out of processed foods/sugar

Where'd he get that from? Obama?

Why not just call it a lie. You never fail to openly call Trump a liar in your platform after saying something you think is not right. Your bias is profound.

And one of the biggest lies Bernie has told

Huh?

I feel like you're missing his broader point, which is: insurance and pharma companies cost the system a lot by jacking up prices and denying coverage.

It's not 'unclear.' it's a flat-out lie, and that moron knows it.

Nonsense. Stop overpaying CEO’s, or better yet, get rid of them, remove the profit motive, force Pharma to sell drugs at rational prices, get rid of corporate 30% administrative overhead

WP is asking easy to answer question if one has the data. 4 little numbers: 1- total PI premiums 2- total PI claims paid 3- MC $-in 4- MC claims paid The first 2, PI $ in and $ out is the closest guarded secret in the history of the world.

Lets hope Millennials, Dems, & the BernieSander followers understand what he said, under his administration THEIR taxes will go UP to pay for FREE healthcare & FREE education, meaning everything he does will simply be paid by raising YOUR taxes.

America needs an excellent public health care system that serves everyone’s wellness. Instead we have a profit-motive system that makes doctors and insurance companies wealthy, while patients are forced into debt or bankruptcy to pay their bills. We can do better.

Is it unclear? Even the Koch bros ‘think tank’ says so

Govt can’t even run the govt.

Just like Obamacare reduced premiums?

That shit will will not work. I dare you to pass the bill but don’t complain to me that you can not afford healthcare

By being unable to pay for services so no care as no new Doctors who won't work for no income

So wrong

Bernie’s a fraud

You mean BULLSH1T SANDERS 🤮👎

Bernie and Trump make up stuff as they go along. Both are as bad as the other. . NeverTrump NeverBernie NeverSanders realDonaldTrump SenSanders

It has to. Cutting out 2,000,000 middle menwould save lots

On one hand, we may save money; on the other, people are dying…which to choose 🤔

I would like to see the specifics, as well. I am interested in his platform, and the details behind his plans.

Cut out the greedy insurance companies, who make Medicare's healthcare unaffordable for many, forcing elders to choose therapies. Medicare is not panacea.

we'd still save money by eliminating other costs like purchasing products, because we could get bulk rates for pacemakers, for example. Moving to this system will enable our country to not get shafted by inflated purchasing costs, but pharma bribes to congress stand in the way.

Sanders is a man all the time supporting all Americans not only rich people who Trump all the time do, but Sanders also have perfect goals we should support him

we would like to see an outline of his bogus health care plan

No. It’s quite clear.

Prove it Bernie! Show us the numbers.

Because America exists in a vacuum, right? 🙄

Yes, it'll reduce healthcare spending...and proportionately increase taxes. It's a wash. The only difference is you have less control or say over your healthcare decisions.

Heart bypass in France = $20,000. Heart bypass in U.S. = $80,000 - $120,000. Same outcome. How?

Ooooh, look out WaPo! Don't make Bernie get his poison pen out again.

With what we pay in premiums, deductibles and co pays it makes sense. If you have employer based healthcare add their premiums into the total cost of your healthcare annually. ReleaseTheFullReport

Lol. Taking money from people who earn it and giving it to those who won't or can't, is unconstitutional and stealing. Medicare for all, is Obamacare 2.0.

NO IT WONT, if history has shown us THE GOVERNMENT IS THE MOST INCAPABLE of doing simple things like naming a street. NOR RUN THE GOVERNMENT NOW

it would, we've already proved that many times

Why does WAPO never cover these stories....

Wish someone steals his ideas like Kamal Harris or Pete B whomever has the same thinking over healthcare.
