The funding, focused on homelessness and support, comes after the deadly April mass stabbing at Bondi Junction.

The announcements come in the wake of the Bondi Junction stabbing spree in April, when attacker Joel Cauchi, 40, killed six people and wounded a dozen more.

Another $30.4 million over four years will expand community mental health teams across targeted areas, including in regional NSW. The St Vincent's Health network will also be allocated five workers to establish a new assertive adult community mental health team. Minns said it would help take pressure off hospital emergency departments, whose staff last year dealt with 124,467 presentations for mental health.
