But how trustworthy are those claims? While I wish I could give you a clear-cut answer, the truth is that it’s complicated.

The study included 66 women—including 10 postmenopausal women—who were experiencing acute shedding. This study looked at a wheat polar lipid complex in the form of Ceramosides™, a specific type of phytoceramides. Phytoceramides are plant-derived ceramides, a polar lipid naturally present in our skin cells, body, and hair. They have a similar lipid structure to the ceramides found in our body and may help replenish ceramide stores.
