The Executive Director of INGRA, Hamza Aliyu made the appeal in a statement made available to Journalists on Saturday. Aliyu noted that the law will give persons living with HIV and AIDS in Kogi State respite from the deluge of discrimination that they have faced over the years in the state.
gathered that the bill passed through first readings on the floor of the Kogi State House of Assembly on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024. It was further learnt that the Second Reading of the Bill was done on the 7th of May 2024. also gathered that the Bill which is sponsored by Bin Ebaiya Shehu Tijjani, the member representing Lokoja I State Constituency, was supported by the Initiative for Grassroot Advancement in Nigeria, INGRA, and the AIDS Healthcare Foundation Nigeria/International.
