Long Island health officials say the beaches could have higher levels of bacteria because of storm water runoff from Monday's thunderstorms.

TOWN OF ISLIP, N.Y. -- Dozens of beaches on Long Island are under an advisory against going in the water. Nassau and Suffolk county health officials both issued warnings Tuesday morning, saying the beaches are located in areas that are heavily impacted by storm water runoff.
