Pumpkin was unexplainably and rapidly losing weight which the kennel staff 'suspected was cancer' and due to the cost of care, he was due to be euthanised.

A kind-hearted vet has saved a dog that was about to be put down at the last minute after it was abandoned on the street by its careless owner.

Luckily for Pumpkin, Vet Dr Sharon Williams, founder of Celandine Wood Animal Rescue was contacted and asked to take in the pup after saving another one in the past from the same kennels. But then Sharon’s phone rang again, and the vet told her "We can’t find a vein" and asked "can you still take him?" Sharon and a CWAR volunteer Paul jumped into her car and drove five hours to pick Pumpkin up.

Under the care of Sharon, Pumkin had blood tests and a specialist ultrasound scan done which ruled out cancer.
