Former President Thabo Mbeki says he did not attend the African National Congress’s siyanqoba rally at the FNB Stadium because he was hospitalised and recuperating at home.
In a video shared on Saturday, Mbeki said he was hospitalised over a week ago and is recuperating at home. “I have been hospitalised and fortunately the doctors and the nurses did a successful job. I am now successfully recuperating at home. I am with you in spirit,” he said.says he wouldn’t be able to attend the Siyanqoba rally because he was in hospital over the past week.“We categorically deny these reports and wish to assure the public that president Mbeki is in good health.
