Legislation to address the youth mental health crisis is making its way through the state Legislature. Gov. Kathy Hochul, Attorney General Letitia James and other top state officials are pushing for the passage of two acts that would restrict social media's addictive features and the collection of minors' personal data."These are ruled by addictive algorithms designed to draw the young people deeper and deeper into that darkness over and over," said Hochul.

The state is also considering legislation that would expand school-based mental health clinics to serve thousands more students.
