Kidney stones are always a pain, and sometimes they can require serious medical intervention.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Most small kidney stones can pass on their own. When they get too large, however, they have the potential to cause damage. Fortunately several surgical options are available for removing kidney stones.

Potretzke performs hundreds of kidney stone surgeries each year. One of the most common is a ureteroscopy.
